Panaji: The Government of Goa launched the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan at Lok Bhavan’s Zuari Hall. The programme focuses on education, skills, technology and innovation for the state’s young population. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant also released the booklet of the Abhiyan. A series of programmes will be organised over the next two months under the initiative.
Taking the focus on technology further, the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications launched the Goa Online AI WhatsApp chatbot, making government services accessible to citizens through WhatsApp. The occasion also saw the launch of the Ayur Hackathon by the Goa Council of Ayurvedic and Other Allied Indian Systems of Medicine, providing a platform for new ideas and technology-based solutions in Ayurveda and allied fields.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the programme is particularly important for the younger generation and reflects the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Viksit Bharat 2047. Recalling the Prime Minister’s journey from Vadnagar in Gujarat to becoming the Prime Minister, Dr. Sawant said young people can create new possibilities when they are given the right opportunities, skills and encouragement.
Emphasising the changing nature of work, CM Sawant spoke about skill-based education, industry-oriented learning and Industry 5.0. He highlighted the CM Scholarship Portal and the use of AI to make more government services available to citizens. He also encouraged young people to become job creators rather than job seekers, while pointing to emerging opportunities in Ayurveda and disaster management. Sharing a personal experience involving his dog’s treatment at Campal Hospital, CM Sawant said everyday challenges can also inspire ideas for startups and practical solutions.
These efforts will continue through various programmes planned under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan over the next two months. The programme will provide opportunities for young people to engage with skills, education, technology, entrepreneurship and emerging sectors, while also bringing public services closer to citizens through digital solutions.
The event brought together Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Rohan A. Khaunte, MLA Govind Gaude, MLA Chandrakant Shetye, Secretary Education IAS Prasad Lolayekar , Director of Higher Education Bhushan K. Savaikar and senior government officials were present on the occasion.
