Located in Al-Wazi’iyah District at an elevation of around 1,132 metres, Mount Qarfan forms part of the Jardad–Bani Omar front between the Ash Shamaytayn and Al-Wazi’iyah districts. Its importance comes from its position rather than elevation alone. The surrounding terrain is dominated by steep ridges and valleys, allowing a force holding the high ground to improve observation and exert fire-control reach over nearby approaches.
