There’s nothing better than seeing your passport stamped in colours of different shapes and sizes. But one can’t help but imagine that the closer one inches to the end of the booklet, or even just the identifier document’s date of expiry, the anxieties around the long process of getting it renewed begin feeling burdensome. Still, given the weight of the document, the process does run appropriately long, enough to have you reschedule your day’s duties and engagements. While every adult is of course supposed to do it for themselves, the stakes are slightly different with a child in the house – especially if they happen to be transitioning into their teenage years. But moving on, Indian parents have been relieved off the burden of an entire cycle of passport renewal that could have been best avoided in the first place.
