Assam is paying homage to its beloved musical icon, Zubeen Garg, with music, prayers and cultural tributes, one year after his death. The singer, composer, actor and filmmaker died on September 19, 2025, in Singapore at the age of 52. Thousands of admirers thronged Zubeen Kshetra to observe the first death anniversary of the singer as part of the three-day Zubeen Divas celebrations. Garg’s wife Garima told NDTV she still sees her husband in the people who have come together to celebrate his life and ideals. She also spoke of his creative legacy, the love of his fans and the family’s continuing search for answers about his death.
