The 2026 National Book Awards are taking shape, with the National Book Foundation unveiling longlists for Nonfiction, Poetry and Young People’s Literature. Thirty books have made the cut across the three categories, encompassing memoir, reportage, poetry, history, science writing, fiction for younger readers and illustrated works.
