The National Institute of Design (NID) has begun the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2027 registration process for admission to its B.Des and 5.5-year Integrated M.Des programmes for the 2027-28 academic session.
The candidates can submit their application forms online through the official admissions portal admissions.nid.edu.
As per the official schedule, the last date to apply is November 30, 2026 (11:59 pm IST). The institute will conduct the DAT Prelims on December 20, 2026, followed by DAT Mains for shortlisted candidates.
The Integrated M.Des programme is offered at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Gandhinagar campuses, covering multiple design disciplines, while the regular M.Des is a separate 2.5-year programme.
How to Apply for NID DAT 2027
The candidates are advised to complete the application process online by following these steps carefully:
- Visit the official NID admissions website and go through the admissions handbook for eligibility, seat details and guidelines
- Click on the registration link and create an account using a valid email ID and mobile number
- Verify the contact details through OTP and log in using the generated credentials
- Select the programme, category and nationality before proceeding with the form
- Fill in personal, academic and communication details accurately
- Upload required documents including photograph, signature and category certificates in the prescribed format
- Review the entire application form to ensure there are no errors
- Pay the application fee through the available online payment modes
- Submit the application form and download a copy for future reference
