According to Dr. Shruthi Sreekumar, Associate Consultant – ENT, Rela Hospital, viral and post-viral infections are among the common causes of hoarseness. “Commonly, what we see is immediately because of some viral infection or post-viral infection. After the viral infection, fever and throat pain and all settle, you get an episode of change in voice or hoarseness of voice,” she said.
