A 27-year-old woman who sustained life-threatening injuries after being hit by a four-wheeler while standing on a pavement has made a remarkable recovery following 20 days of intensive care at a private Hospital in Kolkata’s Salt Lake area.The patient, Ms. Misti Mondal, was rushed to the hospital on August 13 in an extremely critical condition. She had a compromised airway, severe respiratory distress, active bleeding, and reduced level of consciousness, along with a fracture in her right arm. Initial investigations revealed multiple bilateral rib fractures, a fractured sternum, and severe lung contusions on both sides. Doctors immediately stabilized her airway and inserted bilateral chest drains before placing her on mechanical ventilation. Source says, the 27 year old lady who got married just three months ago, was hit by a learner driver. A case was also registered at Bidhannagar south police station against the learner driver.
