In a major development, the Centre has filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking a direction to the CJI Bench to quash FIRs over student protests, invoking Article 142 of the Constitution. The Solicitor General of India on Monday sought an urgent listing of the matter tomorrow. The Chief Justice of India has agreed to list the matter.
