Six months into the US-Israel war on Iran, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz continues to cause one of the most severe disruptions to maritime shipping in decades. Traffic through the 33 km chokepoint has fallen from more than 100 vessels a day before the war to about five, severely disrupting the movement of oil, gas and other goods around the world.
