Residential schools (especially girls’ schools) have also been instructed to ensure a safe environment, availability of female wardens, clean drinking water, toilets and kitchen cleanliness, handwashing facilities, quality food, functional electricity connections and equipment, medical facilities, and periodic health check-ups by female doctors. “As directed earlier, the physical inspection of these schools should be conducted periodically by women officers of various departments posted in the district, and immediate resolution of any shortcomings identified during inspections should be ensured,” government clarified.
