Sri Lankan batter Niroshan Dickwella extended a bizarre world record as his wait for a maiden Test tonne continued after scoring the 23rd half-century of his career during the third day of the first Test between India and Sri Lanka on Monday (August 17th) at the Galle International Stadium. The left-handed batter, who made a comeback after more than three years, made the most of his chance to frustrate the Indian bowling attack with the older ball to help the hosts come close to avoiding a follow-on.
