Novak Djokovic’s Road To Cincinnati Title: Sinner-Alcaraz Absence Helps, But Tough Draw Awaits

Novak Djokovic will return to the court for the first time since Wimbledon 2026. Djokovic rarely cares about ATP titles at this stage of his career, but a Masters 1000 win ahead of the US Open could be a great morale booster. To Djokovic’s relief, two of his biggest tormentors, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, have pulled out of the Cincinnati Open, providing Novak a great opportunity to add another Masters title to his cabinet. Sinner is out due to a knee injury, while Alcaraz hasn’t played tennis since the wrist injury he picked up at the Barcelona Open ahead of the Roland Garros.
