Six people are dead following a shooting in Winfield, Kansas, on Tuesday morning, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and local police. The incident was reported at around 8:50 AM at a home near West 9th Avenue and Stewart Street. The KBI and Winfield Police Department are investigating the incident.
The KBI identified 53-year-old Ronald Williams Sr. of Winfield as the suspect. Authorities said Williams Sr. killed his wife and four children before fatally shooting himself inside their residence.
The five victims were identified as Williams Sr.’s wife, 44-year-old Kelly George, and their children: Carol Williams, 9; Ronald Williams, 7; Sarah Williams, 5; and Kelly MaGee-Williams, 3.
All six people involved were later found dead, including the male suspect.
The KBI said there is no ongoing threat to the public. Authorities are expected to release additional information as the investigation continues.
The Winfield Police Department is also hosting a press briefing regarding the homicide incident.
