A heartwarming video showing a woman encouraging her househelp’s teenage daughter to resume her education has gone viral on social media, winning praise from users online.
The video was shared on Instagram by a user identified as @anushka_oyeee. It begins with an on-screen text that reads, “POV: You asked your househelp’s daughter if she goes to school and here is what she replied.”
In the video, the woman can be heard asking the girl about her education and learning that she had studied up to Class 7. She then asks the girl her age and, on learning that she is 14, encourages her to continue her studies.
“Tum kahan tak ki ho? 7th class tak? Abhi late nahi hua hai. Age kya hai tumhari? 14 saal? It’s okay. Tum 8th karo ya 9th, paanch saal baad exam do, achha college nikalo, phir achhi naukri mil jayegi,” she tells the girl.
She further encourages the teenager to pursue her education, asking whether she ever wishes to study and telling her that they would find a way to help her continue her schooling.
The woman then explains why education is important beyond simply earning money.
“Padhai sirf paisa kamane ke liye nahi hoti. Achhe logon se milogi, achha paisa kamaogi, achhi baat karogi, phir tumhare paas opinions rahenge. Koi tumhe bewakoof nahi bana payega,” she says.
The Instagram caption provided further context about the conversation. The woman, who identified herself as Anushka and said she is studying at Symbiosis Law School, Noida, explained that she had recently moved to Noida.
According to her, the woman who helps with household chores and her daughter had moved to Noida around two years ago. The daughter had previously been studying at a school in her village but had to discontinue her education after moving to Noida.
Anushka said the girl wanted to resume her studies and complete Class 12, but the family was looking for a good, affordable government school near Sector 62, Noida.
She also appealed to local residents to recommend reliable schools with affordable fees, saying she did not want to depend solely on online reviews and risk providing the family with incorrect information.
The video has since gone viral, with several social media users praising Anushka for encouraging the girl to return to school and highlighting the importance of education and access to affordable schooling.
