After Australia got off to a fast start in their chase, Keshav Maharaj’s four wickets helped South Africa defend 297, while Matthew Breetzke shone with a century in the opening match. Although Marco Jansen scored a fast 75 off 59, his incredible catch to dismiss Matt Renshaw was the real highlight of his all-around performance.
South Africa will have another seasoned batting and all-around option in Aiden Markram, who was absent for the first game but is available for the next two ODIs.
