Mumbai: A road-rage incident near Bandra Talao in Mumbai’s Bandra area allegedly turned violent after a man was assaulted and his car’s windows were smashed following an argument with another driver, according to a police complaint.
The incident took place around 12.15 am on August 9 on Talao Road. The complainant, a 39-year-old fitness trainer, was travelling with his wife when a white Mahindra XUV 700 allegedly overtook his vehicle near S V Road.
According to the complaint, the XUV driver became angry over the overtaking and repeatedly tried to stop the complainant’s vehicle. The XUV allegedly blocked his vehicle near Bandra Talao, following which a man wearing a white shirt approached the complainant and allegedly started abusing him. When the complainant stepped out of his vehicle, the man allegedly assaulted him.
Two other unidentified men, who were reportedly travelling on a motorcycle, allegedly joined the confrontation.
One of the accused allegedly tried to attack the complainant with a baseball bat-like stick, while another allegedly used a hockey stick to smash the windows of his car.
The complainant’s wife became frightened during the incident and got out of the vehicle, according to the complaint. The accused allegedly fled the spot in their vehicles after damaging the car.
