The actor also reflected on how his mother’s death altered his relationship with his career. Govinda was already a major Bollywood star, but the experience made him question the importance he had attached to films, fame and heroism. “Films is just like toys for me. I shouldn’t say this, I am saying it out of fear of God. Forgive me if I shouldn’t be saying this, and if I am offending anyone… But I believe that films, acting, stardom, heroism, all of it, is a manifestation of God,” Govinda said. He added that he viewed everything he had received in life as something granted by The Almighty, rather than something he could claim entirely as his own achievement.
