A day before the start of the warm-up game against Sri Lankan XI, Shubman Gill suffered two injury scares during the practice session. He was hit on his thumb while batting in the nets. He was attended by the team’s physio and was cleared to resume batting. Gill was in visible pain when he was hit for the second time. The India captain was hit on his right hand during the slip catching practice. Once again, the physio rushed to attend to him. Subhadeep Ghosh has joined India as the new fielding coach.
