Kolkata Police Launches CPR Training To Drivers To Avert Heart Attack Emergency On Wheel

To prevent such tragedies, the Kolkata Traffic Police has launched a remarkable initiative. The Tiljala Traffic Guard is providing CPR training to drivers of public vehicles, so that primary treatment can be administered immediately if a driver or passenger suffers a sudden heart attack. Doctors say timely CPR can save lives in many such cases.As part of Road Safety Week, observed from August 3 to August 9, the Tiljala Traffic Guard, in collaboration with a private hospital, is training drivers of buses, auto-rickshaws, and taxis. Around 100 drivers are being trained daily. On Monday, nearly 80-90 drivers received CPR training from Dr. Srishti Dewan at Parama Island, near EM Bypass.
