The exact same rules apply. For your hair, Dr. Shokeen asks you to start your routine not with the shampoo, but with the conditioner. Take a generous dollop of conditioner and work it into the lengths of your hair. She specifically asks for you to make sure you don’t go too close to the scalp – it’ll just already add to the days worth of build up you’re anyway going to want to be removing with your shampoo. For the amount, don’t use as much as you’d use for a hair mask, but still make it generous enough to evenly cover your locks. Let this sit for 5 to 10 minutes before you go in with a shampoo. While most will direct you to only shampoo your scalp, make sure to run your lathered up palms through the lengths of your hair as well. After all, it’s important to get the conditioner out once it’s done glossing your hair in round one. As for your scalp, shampoo as you would and rinse all the froth off. Finally, go in with a second round of conditioner, this time, with as much as you’d normally do. Leave it in for a quick 10 minutes before rinsing off with cool water.
