After the video surfaced, the state government filed a police complaint and the Cyber Crime Police arrested the accused; the case proceeded before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Vijayawada. Authorities said the suspect has a history of similar cyber frauds, and investigators found no evidence linking officials from SAAP, sports associations or political figures to the clip. The government therefore reiterated that the Mega DSC Sports Quota–2025 recruitment was handled with utmost transparency and that any wrongdoing shown in the footage was the act of an individual criminal, not institutional or political collusion.
