Deepak Ratre and Bhupendra Bhaina left their homes in Chhattisgarh in search of work, like thousands of migrant labourers who travel to several states of India, including Jammu and Kashmir, every year for daily-wage jobs. Both in their twenties, the two men found employment at a brick kiln in the Kelam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. On Friday evening, terrorists targeted the two labourers at the kiln, plunging their families into sorrow and despair.
