Peddi Movie Pre-Release LIVE UPDATES: First Reviews Of Ram Charan's Rural Sports Drama OUT

Peddi is among the most anticipated Indian films of 2026, as it marks a major collaboration between Ram Charan and director Buchi Babu Sana. With a massive budget, a rustic backdrop, and music by AR Rahman, the film is positioned as a pan-India spectacle ahead of its worldwide release on June 4, 2026. The Telugu sports drama follows a determined villager who uses sports to unite his community and protect their pride. Though the makers have largely kept story details under wraps, the promotional material suggests that the film is a rural sports action drama set in 1980s rural Andhra Pradesh. It is centred on Peddi Pehelwan, a rugged village wrestler played by Ram Charan. The narrative appears to blend themes of sports, community pride, resilience, and social change. Ram Charan reportedly underwent more than four months of wrestling training to prepare for the physically demanding role.

The film features an ensemble cast. Apart from Ram Charan, it also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, Boman Irani and others.
