Although Delhi Police denied using the weapon, calling such reports “false and misleading,” a General Diary entry accessed by Times Now records that Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel, a wing of the CRPF deployed alongside Delhi Police, fired plastic pellets from an anti-riot gun on the directions of a Deputy Commissioner-rank officer. Several protesters were reported injured, including a 19-year-old Delhi University student who may lose sight in one eye, in what marked the first known use of the weapon against protesters in the national capital.
