Her comments came amid a Times Now report that Delhi Police used pellet guns on protesters during the July 20 ‘Chalo Sansad’ march to Parliament, led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) student outfit over the NEET-UG paper leak. Although Delhi Police denied using the weapon, calling such reports “false and misleading,” a General Diary entry accessed by Times Now records that Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel, a wing of the CRPF deployed alongside Delhi Police, fired plastic pellets from an anti-riot gun on the directions of a Deputy Commissioner-rank officer. Several protesters were reported injured, including a 19-year-old Delhi University student who may lose sight in one eye, in what marked the first known use of the weapon against protesters in the national capital.
