This phenomenon has become increasingly discussed alongside the growing use of GLP-1 weight-loss medications, including semaglutide. Social media has popularised terms such as “Ozempic face” and more recently “Ozempic neck,” referring to facial or neck sagging that may become more noticeable after substantial weight loss. Importantly, these changes are not unique to any medication. Similar effects can occur after dieting, bariatric surgery or illness-related weight loss.
