A private school teacher in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi has been booked for allegedly burning a nursery student’s private parts with a heated knife after the child urinated in his pants, police said. The incident took place at a private school in the Pandeypur area under the Lalpur-Pandeypur police station limits.

According to the complaint filed by the child’s father, his son, who studies in nursery, had asked his teacher for permission to use the washroom.

The family alleged that the teacher refused permission, following which the child urinated in his clothes. They claimed that the teacher got angry and took the child to another room, where she allegedly heated a knife and burnt his private parts.

The family further alleged that the teacher assaulted the child and threatened him against telling anyone about the incident.

After returning home, the child narrated the incident to his parents, following which they approached the police and lodged a complaint. The child was taken for medical examination, and police began investigating the allegations.

An FIR has been registered against teacher Preeti Kushwaha, the school management and the principal under sections 115(2), 118(1) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), police said.

The police are examining the allegations and collecting evidence as part of the investigation. Statements of the child and his family members are also being recorded.

The case has sparked concern over child safety in educational institutions and raised questions about alleged use of corporal punishment in schools.

Police officials said further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
