Why India's Opposition must give up Its Obstructionist Chicanery

Instead, the Congress appears determined to return to its familiar playbook—boycotts, disruptions and engineered deadlock. Hiding behind the anarchy surrounding the CJP protests has apparently become the latest pretext to avoid the very institution where governments are meant to be questioned. If the Congress genuinely believes it has a case, why seek refuge in street protests and parliamentary disruption? The Opposition needs to understand that slogans outside Parliament can never substitute reasoned arguments inside it. Democracy is strengthened when governments are challenged through debate, facts and votes—not when legislative business is held hostage to political spectacle.
