Anthropic has been eyeing ways to do things that are unconventional yet help humanity for a long time now. In a recent development, the company has announced a new initiative in its AI for Science programme, under which it will provide select researchers and early-stage biotech companies up to $50,000, which roughly converts to Rs 43,00,000 of Claude AI credits over six months to help accelerate research into rare genetic diseases. For those curious, the funding will not be disbursed in the form of cash; rather, the selected researchers will get Claude usage credits that can be utilised to run AI Models by Anthropic. This will aid the researchers in analysing scientific data, building AI-powered research tools with zero cost concerns, and reviewing medical literature.
