A fresh twist has emerged in the case involving a trainee IPS officer, who was earlier booked for allegedly assaulting a woman colleague at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. According to the earlier FIR, the woman trainee officer had accused Reddy of stalking, groping and holding her at knifepoint on the academy premises. The case is currently under investigation by Hyderabad Police.
No Evidence of Poison Consumption
Reddy is currently admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad and is undergoing treatment. However, police sources have disputed claims that he attempted suicide.
According to preliminary findings, investigators believe Reddy lost consciousness due to excessive alcohol consumption rather than an attempt to take his own life. Medical examinations reportedly found no evidence of consumption of any poisonous substance.
Investigators are also expected to examine digital evidence, including WhatsApp chats and other electronic records, as part of the broader inquiry.
The case has attracted significant attention because it involves trainee IPS officers and serious allegations of assault, stalking and coercion within one of the country’s premier police training institutions. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses and forensic examination of the electronic evidence is completed.
Trainee IPS Officer Shares Horrific Ordeal
The complaint filed by the 30-year-old woman trainee IPS officer at Attapur police station, the accused allegedly began sending her sexually abusive messages through an instant messaging application from June 23 and made derogatory comments about her in front of her friends within the academy premises. He, as per the report, also allegedly falsely accused her of having a sexual relationship with another trainee and pressured her to admit to it.
On July 8, the accused allegedly intimidated her into revealing her phone password and took her mobile to his room. On July 9, he allegedly wrongfully restrained her, forcibly took her to his room, grabbed her by the hair, attempted to strangle her, and held a knife against her neck, refusing to let her leave. On July 10, he allegedly physically assaulted her again.
The complainant further alleged that the accused recorded a private video of her without her knowledge or consent and sent it to her husband with the intention of blackmailing her.
