A cross seen on the desk of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has become the latest point of controversy in the state. DMK spokesperson and former MP DNV Senthilkumar, tweeted, “CM Annadurai in 1968 issued a circular to HODs to ensure that pictures/idols of gods be ‘removed gradually & unostentatiously’. Madam Jayalalitha issued G.O. in 1993 amending ‘Tamil Nadu Office Manual’,prohibiting practice of worship by govt staff at offices.”
