A Sky News report shared that the actor’s solicitor Humzah Ilyas revealed that the rape case had a “profound impact” on the young actor. In the three and a half years of the investigation and trial, Ward’s acting career had been paused. In a statement read out by Ilyas, the actor thanked the jury members for examining the evidence with care. The statement read, “As he maintained throughout this case, this was a consensual sexual encounter. The jury agreed and cleared him of all wrongdoing.”
