In Mumbai and neighbouring districts, educational institutions were shut on July 7 after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued red and orange alerts for heavy to very heavy rainfall. While weather conditions have started improving in parts of Maharashtra, authorities remain on alert, and any fresh decision on school holidays will depend on local weather conditions and official advisories.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall has also affected Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Karnataka and other regions, leading to waterlogging and disruptions. Other districts across states have also declared holidays based on local conditions.
Stay tuned for latest updates on school closures, district-wise holiday announcements, IMD weather warnings, and official notices from state governments and district administrations.
