K Bhagyaraj passed away in June this year at the age of 73 after suffering a cardiac arrest. A prominent filmmaker, actor and screenwriter, he enjoyed a career spanning several decades and delivered acclaimed films including Suvarilladha Chiththirangal, Oru Kai Osai, Mouna Geethangal, Andha 7 Naatkal, Mundhanai Mudichu, Dhavani Kanavugal, Chinna Veedu, Enga Chinna Rasa and Avasara Police 100. Bhagyaraj is survived by his wife Poornima Bhagyaraj, son Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and daughter Saranya Bhagyaraj. His death came just 17 days after the passing of his mentor and fellow Tamil cinema veteran K Bharathirajaa.
