Earlier ,India posted 189 on the board despite losing Sanju Samson (1) and Ishan Kishan (0) in the first overs, when there were just six runs on the board. Abhishek Sharma changed the momentum of the game with a counter attack in the powerplay. He made a 20-ball fifty and finished with 59 runs after making 24 balls. Shreyas Iyer anchored the innings and got his maiden fifty as Indian captain with a knock of 68 in 44 balls. Shivam Dube gave India a brilliant finish with a fine cameo. He made a 21-ball 42 and remained unbeaten. Sadiq Mahmood took three wickets for England.
Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first. There was no debut in sight for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Varun Chakravarthy returned while Ravi Bishnoi also got a place as the Men in Blue opted for three spinners.
