Before this, Google used to count only images and videos uploaded to Google Photos as the backup data in Google account storage. Apart from that, the tech giant also has 15GB of free cloud storage for users. With the new policy in action, other data like SMS messages, device settings, call history, and app data will be backed up along with other backup information. Now, all users will get less storage by default to enjoy for their data.
