Sharing more information about the crime incident, Bawal DSP Surendra Sheoran stated in a press conference that Ratanlal, a resident of Jadthal village, had recently lodged a complaint at the Kasola police station. According to the complaint, his 21-year-old son, Monu, had left home on his electric scooter around 10 p.m. on June 8 to buy medicine but never returned.

Acting promptly, the police registered a missing person case and initiated a search operation.

During the investigation, the police received information on June 10 regarding a young man’s body lying in the canal near Asalwas village. Acting swiftly, the cops immediately reached the scene and recovered the body, which was identified as that of the missing Monu.

The FSL team initially found no visible injury marks on the deceased’s body. His scooter was recovered near the canal. Consequently, the case initially appeared to be one of accidental drowning. After the post-mortem, the police handed over the body to the victim’s family.

Family Raises Suspicion on Monu’s Death

The Bawal DSP stated that after the deceased’s family raised suspicion of murder, the police took the matter seriously and immediately added murder charges to the case. Subsequently, the police initiated an intensive investigation based on scientific methods and technical surveillance.

Following the technical investigation and the piecing together of evidence, the police apprehended the two main accused involved in the murder, including the deceased’s wife, Tannu, and Hariom — on Thursday.

Truth Revealed in Investigation

During the investigation, it came to light that the deceased Monu’s wife, Tannu, was allegedly having an affair with a young man named Sonu.

To eliminate her husband Monu, Tannu conspired with her lover, Sonu, to kill him. To execute the crime, Tannu sought help from two of her friends identified as Hariom and Aman, residents of Mundanwas.

How Crime Was Committed

According to the reports, Tannu called her husband Monu to Kasoli village. As soon as he arrived, Hariom and his accomplice Aman, who were waiting for him, held Monu’s mouth and nose and smothered him until he lost consciousness completely.

To destroy the evidence, they made it look like an accident by throwing his body into the Asalwas canal.

DSP Surendra Sheoran stated that the family members of the deceased’s wife would also undergo rigorous questioning. The police are awaiting the final FSL report to clarify whether the death was caused by suffocation or drowning.
