Police stopped the BJP leaders from entering the temple premises, leading to a scuffle between BJP workers and the police. Amid heightened tension, police detained and arrested several BJP leaders and shifted them to the Mattewada Police Station. A heavy police deployment was made to prevent any law and order issues.
