Mahayuti candidate Sachin Ahir was unanimously elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council. Initially, Jagannath Shinde was fielded as the candidate by the Shiv Sena (UBT). However, the government appealed for an uncontested election, citing parliamentary tradition. Following this, the opposition withdrew its candidate, and Sachin Ahir was elected unanimously.
