JYP Entertainment has reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian causes by announcing a significant donation to support relief efforts following the recent devastating earthquake in Venezuela. Alongside ongoing rescue and recovery operations in the affected areas, the K-pop agency has joined global efforts to provide emergency aid to the affected population. The contribution will help address some of the most urgent needs of those affected by the disaster while highlighting JYP’s ongoing culture of charitable giving. This is another addition to the growing list of humanitarian initiatives the company has been undertaking in response to natural disasters and global emergencies.

JYP Entertainment donates after Venezuela earthquake

JYP Entertainment announced on June 26 that it has donated 300 million KRW (approximately $200,000) to international relief and development NGO World Vision to support emergency relief efforts for those affected by the Venezuela earthquake. The powerful earthquake struck Venezuela on June 24 and was followed by multiple aftershocks, leaving widespread devastation. The donation will be used to provide emergency food, daily necessities, clean water, sanitation support, and psychological care for children and residents impacted by the disaster.

Sharing the reason behind the contribution, JYP Entertainment said, “We hope this contribution can offer even a small source of strength to the children and residents who have lost their homes due to this unexpected disaster. We sincerely hope the affected communities regain stability as soon as possible and that everyone can safely return to their daily lives.”

The agency noted that charitable giving is a core part of its values rather than a one-time effort. Over the past year, JYP has contributed more than 1.1 billion KRW toward recovery efforts following the wildfires in South Gyeongsang and North Gyeongsang provinces, the Myanmar earthquake, and a major fire in Hong Kong.

Its humanitarian initiatives also include 500 million KRW for relief after the 2023 Türkiye-Syria earthquake, 300 million KRW for wildfire recovery efforts in 2022, and 500 million KRW to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in 2020.

Beyond disaster relief, JYP Entertainment continues to run its EDM (Every Dream Matters!) campaign, which provides financial assistance for medical treatment to children and teenagers, reflecting the company’s broader commitment to social responsibility.
