Days after the deadly fire at a coaching centre in Lucknow that claimed 15 lives, a major fire broke out at a flat in Aranya Society in Sector 119, Noida, on Monday morning, triggering a massive emergency response.

According to officials, the fire erupted in a flat in the high-rise residential society, which falls under the jurisdiction of Sector 113 Police Station. Preliminary reports suggest the blaze may have started following a blast in an air conditioner unit. However, the exact cause will be confirmed after an investigation.

At least six fire tenders were rushed to the spot, and firefighting operations were underway at the time of filing this report. The fire reportedly engulfed at least two flats on the 21st floor of the building.

Officials said no casualties or injuries had been reported so far. Taking cognisance of the incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to reach the spot immediately and speed up relief and rescue operations.

The Chief Minister also instructed authorities to ensure proper medical treatment for anyone injured in the incident and asked the administration to remain vigilant. He further directed officials to continuously monitor the rescue and relief operations until the situation is brought under control, according to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

Firefighters continued efforts to douse the blaze, while officials were assessing the extent of the damage. Further details are awaited.
