The death toll in the Taratala godown collapse has risen to 11, while more than 20 people are reported to be injured. As per reports, few more workers may still be trapped inside and rescue operations are continuing at the site in south Kolkata. The Kolkata police has filed a suo motu FIR and arrested five persons so far. The five arrested have been identified as Gulzar Hussain, supervisor of Ayan Traders; Kamal Samanto, iron structure fabricator; Sambhunath Behera, lessee of land; Dibakar Bhandari, labour supplier cum Trimex contractor; and Abdul Hamid, broker for sanction plan for Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC).
