Team India's Belfast Plan Revealed: Two-Batch Arrival, Titanic Quarter Stay

team india's belfast plan revealed: two-batch arrival, titanic quarter stay

The next T20I cycle for Team India will start on June 24 in Belfast with a two-match series against Ireland. Ahead of the five-match series in England next month, the BCCI has revealed a formidable 15-member squad, with 15-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi being the tour’s most notable addition. Sooryavanshi received recognition for his achievements in the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League, where he scored 776 runs to win the Orange Cap.

However, wicketkeeper-batter Lorcan Tucker has been appointed as Ireland’s new T20I captain in place of Paul Stirling, who stepped down from the role after an unimpressive outing in the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, where the Men in Blue won their historic fifth title.

Team India’s Belfast Plan

Times Now has learned that the Indian team will be arriving for the Ireland series in Belfast in two batches. The first batch of players and support staff will depart from Chennai, travelling via Dubai and Dublin before shifting their journey to road to reach Belfast. The second batch will leave from Mumbai tomorrow. They too will travel through Dubai and Dublin and are scheduled to arrive in Belfast on the afternoon of June 24. The team’s first training session has been scheduled for June 25.

The Indian team will be staying in Belfast’s renowned Titanic Quarter, adding a distinctive flavour to the tour. The waterfront area is still one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks and is well known across the world for being the birthplace of the RMS Titanic. Since then, the region has developed into a popular tourist destination while maintaining its historic maritime history.

However, the team has dealt with multiple injury blows ahead of the Ireland series. First, star spinner Varun Chakaravarthy was ruled out of the series due to an injury, and now Times Now has learnt that the Men in Blue will also be missing Nitish Kumar Reddy in the series. The all-rounder is dealing with an injury in his left quadriceps and has been ruled out of the two-match T20I series.
