Two persons, including a child and a student, were killed and 16 others injured after an APSRTC Ultra Deluxe bus collided with a lorry in Andhra Pradesh’s Kadapa district in the early hours of Monday.
The accident occurred between 1 am and 1.15 am near Udumuvaripalli village in Pullampeta when the Tirupati-Kadapa bus crashed into a lorry coming from the opposite direction. Police said around 27 passengers were travelling on the bus at the time. The impact damaged several seats on the right side of the vehicle.
The injured, including the lorry driver, were shifted to Rajampet Government Hospital and other medical facilities. Transport Minister M Ramprasad Reddy expressed grief over the incident and directed officials to ensure proper treatment for the injured. Police are registering a case and investigating the accident.
