He became one of only eight players to play in two editions of FIFA World Cups before turning 22 alongside Pelé (Brazil; 1958, 1962), Norman Whiteside (Northern Ireland; 1982, 1986), Rigobert Song (Cameroon; 1994, 1998), Salomon Olembè (Cameroon; 1998, 2002), and Samuel Eto’o (Cameroon; 1998, 2002).
