On June 22, The Chosun Daily reported that the Seoul Western District Court’s Criminal Division 1 gave the accused a suspended sentence, meaning the person will not go to jail immediately, but under certain conditions. She was convicted of violating South Korea’s Stalking Punishment Act and trespassing laws. As a general rule, the court will impose a suspended sentence if it considers the seriousness of the crime, the circumstances of the defendant, or whether any further punishment can be avoided if the defendant does not commit any crimes.
