A bomb threat triggered panic at Aishbagh Railway Station in Lucknow on Tuesday after authorities received information about a suspected explosive device at Platform No. 1. The alert prompted an immediate security response, with railway authorities and security agencies rushing to the spot and taking control of the area as a precautionary measure.
According to officials, the information was received by the control room, following which teams from the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) were deployed at the station along with senior officers.
Security personnel cordoned off Platform No. 1 and began a thorough search operation to ensure passenger safety.
Bomb disposal and dog squads were also called in to assist with the operation. Sniffer dogs were deployed to inspect every corner of the platform, unattended luggage and areas near the railway tracks.
Authorities said the search operation is still underway and no official confirmation has yet been made about the presence of any explosive device. Senior railway and local police officials are closely monitoring the situation.
Officials said a clearer picture will emerge only after the search operation is completed and the final inspection report is available.
