Sunny Deol is now coming up with yet another period drama, Batwara 1947. Produced by Aamir Khan, the film is releasing on August 14, 2026, in theatres ahead of Independence Day. It also features Preity Zinta, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, Shabana Azmi, Abhimanyu Singh, Khushi Hajare and Kanikka Kapur in pivotal roles. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Batwara 1947 was earlier titled Lahore 1947. The film has music composed by AR Rahman.
