Actor Prakash Raj is set to join the Cockroach Janta Party‘s (CJP) protest at Bengaluru‘s Freedom Park on Sunday, lending support to the group’s campaign against alleged irregularities in the country’s education system. The actor and the party confirmed his participation through separate posts on X.

Announcing the development, the Cockroach Janta Party wrote, “Big Announcement: Activist Prakash Raj Will Be Joining CJP’s Peaceful Protest At Bengaluru!”

Prakash Raj also urged citizens to participate in the demonstration, saying he was travelling to Bengaluru to support the cause.

“I am travelling to reach Bengaluru .. to support this relevant peaceful protest.. please join us to raise our voice and make the government accountable for its failure,” Raj posted on X.

CJP holds protests across India

The CJP has been organising protests across the country, demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister over alleged examination irregularities and broader concerns regarding the education system. Sunday’s demonstration at Freedom Park is expected to draw students, activists and supporters from various organisations.

On Sunday, CJP also held a protest in Hyderabad, demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak and the irregularities related to the CBSE’s on-screen marking system.

Protestors gathered in large numbers at Dharna Chowk to voice their frustration against the NDA government at the Centre.

The protesters raised slogans like “we want justice” and ‘resign Dharmendra Pradhan’.

Activist Sonam Wangchuk is set to address the gathering, he said in a social media post.

A senior police official said permission was granted to the party to hold dharna till this afternoon.
