Among those caught in the uncertainty was Rudransh Chaubey, a young Merchant Navy Trainee Navigation Officer from Chhattisgarh, who witnessed what he described as a “war-like situation” while stranded at sea with 21 other crew members. Now safely back home, Chaubey recalled days of fear, confusion and constant uncertainty after reports emerged that Iran could shut down the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz, leaving ships in the region awaiting instructions amid mounting security concerns.
